Liverpool to miss out on Real-bound wonderkid Odegaard

Liverpool are set to miss out on Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard after Real Madrid announced they had reached an agreement with Stromsgodset for the 16-year-old's transfer.
Madrid will reportedly pay the Norwegian club €4 million (£3m) for Odegaard's services, according to Spanish newspaper AS, although Madrid's announcement did not disclose the terms of the deal.
The teenager, who already has three senior caps for Norway, has been courted by a host of Europe's biggest clubs. He trained with Liverpool before Christmas as Brendan Rodgers plotted a move for the midfielder, with veteran defender Kolo Toure dubbing him a "very good player" after seeing him in action.
Odegaard scored five goals in 23 games for Stromsgodset to help the team finish fourth in the Tippeligaen last year. Last October, he became the youngest player in the history of the European Championship when he came on as a substitute in Norway's 2-1 victory over Bulgaria in a Euro 2016 qualifier.
Odegaard will undergo a medical on Thursday before being introduced at a press conference at the Ciudad Real Madrid training facility.
