Marcos Rojo insists that his Manchester United team-mates have not given up hope of overhauling Chelsea to win the Premier League title this season.

While manager Louis van Gaal says his money is on Jose Mourinho's men, 24-year-old Rojo, who joined United from Sporting Lisbon in a £16 million last summer, is quietly confident despite his new side slipping out of title contention with a poor start to the season.

"I thought Chelsea were far ahead of us in the table, but everyone at United says we can catch them," he said ahead of United's trip to West Ham on Sunday.

"We will not give up hope. We'll first aim to overtake Manchester City, and it is a good challenge for us.

"We have even better chances of winning the FA Cup. I am in good shape, and I'm happy with the way our results are going.

"Louis van Gaal is a coach who gives us a lot of confidence. You can tell he knows a lot about football. He always tries to advise us, and if he spots something about your game he'll tell you in private and show you videos about it.

"Angel Di Maria got off to a good start with us. He had a quiet spell, but he's now regaining his best form. He is coming to terms with the recent attempted robbery at his house.

"When I scored my goal against Cambridge the fans began chanting 'Argentina! Argentina!' It makes me very proud for this to happen in England."
