Manchester City must 'wake up', admits Nasri
Samir Nasri has told Manchester City to "wake up" before their chances of retaining the Premier League title disappear while they are daydreaming.
City are now seven points behind leaders Chelsea after drawing 1-1 with Hull on Saturday, a result which extended their winless run to five games.
Manuel Pellegrini's side were nine points behind Liverpool last season and recovered to become champions, but midfielder Nasri believes Chelsea are less likely to blow a lead.
And while he has urged his team-mates to close in on Chelsea as quickly as they can, he accepts City have a difficult task as they visit one of their bogey grounds, Stoke's Britannia Stadium, this week.
"We have to wake up and do the job now before it's too late," Nasri said. "Chelsea, with no disrespect, are not Liverpool who can drop points. They are really solid.
"We have to catch them as soon as possible if we want to be champions. But at the same time we have to look behind us. Southampton have won, United are getting close.
"It will be tough at Stoke. It's not ideal on a Wednesday night during the winter, but we have to win it."
