Wenger: Upcoming Monaco match will not affect team selection at Crystal Palace

Thierry Henry has been coaching Arsenal's youth players, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

In December, Henry announced his retirement from playing football as he parted company with New York Red Bulls.

The former Arsenal striker, 37, has since begun working as a television pundit and he has now embarked on a coaching career.

"Thierry Henry is making his first steps as a coach," Wenger said at his pre-match news conference ahead of Saturday's game with Crystal Palace.

"It's good for our youngsters to be coached by him. He's been here once or twice.

"All our former players are welcome to come back here and get their coaching badges. We're happy to have him."

Henry played for Arsenal for 13 years between 1999-2012, scoring 228 goals in 377 appearances for the club while lifting the Premier League title twice and the FA Cup on three occasions.
