Is Falcao the biggest transfer flop?

Manchester United have received a double injury boost with Robin van Persie and Phil Jones passed fit to face Swansea.

Joint-top scorer Van Persie missed the 3-1 FA Cup win at Preston with a knock while centre-back Jones came off in the fifth minute of the Premier League victory over Burnley with an ankle injury.

United will visit the Liberty Stadium with only Michael Carrick on the injured list, with the vice captain to resume training next week after missing the last three games.

"They [Jones and van Persie] are fit to play," manager Louis van Gaal told MUTV. "Only Carrick is still injured. I think he shall train with the group next week. I expect that, but you never know. You'll have to wait and see."

Van Persie gives United an option to the out-of-form Radamel Falcao in attack while Jones could challenge Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling for the centre-back spots.

The United boss believes he is finally close to fielding his strongest side after a season when United have suffered more than 50 injuries.

He said in a news conference: "We are very close to that stage. I have started in the first four months to select out of only the fit players and as you know we have always had 10 or 11 injuries .

"Now in the last months we have only one or two players injured, for example now only Michael Carrick is injured, so that is also a big difference.

"That is also because the way of training the players have to adapt, this has been completed and that is different to the beginning.

"We don't have to forget that we have said it in advance that the American tour was not good for the preparation for a team in the Premier League."
