Everton have confirmed that defender Joseph Yobo will join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal.

Yobo, 29, will join Fener if he successfully completes a medical and agrees personal terms with the Turkish club. The deal could be made permanent at the end of the season.

The Nigeria international joined Everton from Tenerife in July 2002, initially on loan, and has made 196 Premier League appearances for the Toffees.

However, he has seen his first-team status slip over the past 12 months and started only 14 league games under David Moyes last season.

"A deal has been agreed between the two clubs for the loan deal and will be completed subject to Yobo passing a medical and agreeing personal terms," read a club statement.

"The Nigerian skipper is now en route to Turkey to meet Fenerbahce officials ahead of the closure of the Turkish transfer window tomorrow (Wednesday)."
