Wenger not interested in Rooney saga

Arsene Wenger is opting to steer clear of the Wayne Rooney saga, with the Arsenal chief focusing on events at Emirates Stadium rather than Old Trafford.
Rooney's future at United is in some doubt following talk of a rift having developed between player and manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
United issued a statement on Sunday saying they had no intention of selling Rooney in January, but that has done little to dampen talk of a move away from Old Trafford. Real Madrid have expressed their interest, but ruled out a bid in January, while the big hitters in the Premier League are sure to be monitoring the situation.
Wenger, though, says he has enough on his own plate to even contemplate thinking about the turmoil in Manchester.
"What I make of it is that I have enough problems here not to be involved in that," he said. "We are not in a transfer period at all. We are in front of a big Champions League game and for us it is very important to focus on that.
"Then again, any little incident at Manchester United or Arsenal becomes a big story, but it doesn't mean that there is something real behind the story. Maybe yes, maybe no - but I don't know enough to be involved in that."
