I was misquoted over Rooney - Vidic

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic insists he was misquoted when he seemingly made critical comments about want-away striker Wayne Rooney.
Speaking after United's 1-0 win over Bursaspor on Wednesday night, Vidic appeared to claim that Rooney, who has openly said he wants to leave the Old Trafford, was having a negative impact at Old Trafford.
Vidic was quoted as saying "Rooney is going around and talking...", but insists he actually said 'rumour' and not 'Rooney'.
Vidic claims his full post-match quote should read: "Rumour is going around and talking about the bad playing, or something happening around the club with the Glazers, it is not good for the players and not good for the team."
In a statement on Wednesday, Rooney has made it clear that he wants to move on and feels the current crop of players at Old Trafford are not up to scratch.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson met with chief executive David Gill on Thursday to discuss Rooney's future and is expected to issue club statement.
