Glen Johnson is unlikely to be fit for Liverpool's weekend trip to Bolton, according to manager Roy Hodgson.

Liverpool have three major players in the treatment room, with Johnson the closest to a return ahead of the weekend. Dirk Kuyt and Daniel Agger are also sidelined due to injuries picked up on international duty.

Jamie Carragher has operated at right back in recent weeks to cover for Johnson, who still has an outside chance of featuring at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday as Liverpool chase their third league win of the season. However, Hodgson did not sound confident over the England right back's chances during Friday's press conference.

"We've still got the same fitness problems we had going into last week's game," he told reporters at Melwood. "Glen Johnson will have a test tomorrow and still hasn't trained with the team.

"Dirk Kuyt is making incredible progress, but of course needs longer than the two weeks it's been since he was injured. Daniel Agger still hasn't recovered from his calf injury, so they are the three injured players and I doubt they'll be fit for this game."
