Barry blasts 'sad' scrutiny of City

Gareth Barry feels arguments between Manchester City players are being blown out of proportion due to the club's big spending.
Carlos Tevez was involved in a heated exchange with boss Roberto Mancini at half-time during the 2-1 victory over Newcastle, while James Milner and Yaya Toure argued as ten-man City were beaten by Arsenal.
Emmanuel Adebayor then rowed with Vincent Kompany on the field during the 2-1 defeat at Wolves during the weekend, and the Sun newspaper has quoted anonymous players saying they are unhappy with the current regime.
However, Barry says arguments between players are commonplace in the Premier League and are simply a sign that everyone wants to win.
"It is a bit sad really," he told the club's official website. "Every little thing is getting scrutinised. If you were to scrutinise every Premier League match last weekend, or any football match, there will be arguments between players - more so when you are desperate to win.
"We have had two sets of players picked up now by the media saying we are arguing but that is because we are desperate to win. For me that is only a good sign and I am sure the manager has already pointed that out."
He added: "It is important now that we get together even more as a team and work harder. This is a great group of players who are working with the manager and trying to do the right things.
"When things like that are being leaked I am surprised to be reading it really. Hopefully the right results on the pitch will get the right headlines."
