The future of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is under the microscope again after the midfielder gave a radio interview highlighting his love for Barcelona.

Fabregas has been linked with a €50 million move to the Nou Camp in the summer and has always maintained that he would love to play for the club again in the future, having been a part of the academy before his move to London.

"I've never hidden that one day I will return to Barcelona,'' he told Catalunya Ràdio. ''Since I was nine months old, my grandfather and I never stopped going to the stadium and have always worn Blaugrana colours. For one reason or another I had to leave, but you never know what can happen."

The midfielder was cagey over a potential move after the World Cup, as he said: "I have not been called by anyone. Neither me or my agent. I can only speak from what I know and answer what I know."

However, he spoke of his love for the city of Barcelona and maintained that, once his career is over, he will settle back in Catalonia.

"Nobody has to tell me that Barcelona is the best city in the world to live and the quality of life that is there. I know perfectly. I don't like the weather of London, but as a city it is spectacular. But when I retire I will live in Barcelona.''
