Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer says unhappy Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner would be welcome at the Bundesliga club.

Bendtner has expressed his discontent with his lacking of first-team starts this season and publicly admitted he would consider leaving Emirates Stadium if Arsene Wenger does not address the issue.

Bayern have been prominently linked with the Denmark international and Beckenbauer, who recently resigned as club president, certainly believes Bendtner is of the calibre required by the German Double winners.

Beckenbauer told the Daily Mirror: "Yes, he is among some players, who have done very well - both for Denmark and for his club, and who has got the class and the potential to play in a club like Bayern Munich, where we already have a lot of class players."

Arsenal signed Marouane Chamakh on a free transfer in the summer and the Morocco international has adapted quickly to the demands of the Premier League, however, they are known to be resistant to the sale of Bendtner.
