Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has admitted he would jump at the chance to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The France international played under Houllier at Lyon before moving to the Spanish capital in July 2009, where he is reported to be unsettled under manager Jose Mourinho.
And Houllier, who is poised to bring former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires to Villa Park, would be keen to convince Benzema to move to the Premier League.
"If Karim wants to come and play at Aston Villa, we would sign him tomorrow," Houllier said.
