Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has received a caution for common assault following a street brawl.

Wilshere, 18, was arrested and bailed following an incident in Kensington High Street, London, in the early hours of August 29, 2010.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "An 18-year-old male has attended a West London police station where he received a caution for common assault."

Two people needed hospital treatment following the brawl. A man received facial injuries and a woman suffered a broken arm. Last month, Duane Brailsford, 18, of Hitchin, Herts, was charged with affray and actual bodily harm in connection with the incident. Adam Mardell, 21, also of Hitchin, Herts, was charged with affray.

The incident is unwelcome publicity for the player who, in August, became the tenth youngest player to represent England when making his debut in a friendly against Hungary.

Wilshere, who in Ausust became the tenth youngest player to represent England when making his debut in a friendly against Hungary, was expected to win his second cap against France in midweek but was forced to withdraw from Fabio Capello's squad due to a problematic back injury.

However, Arsene Wenger has confirmed the midfielder will be available for selection when Tottenham visit Emirates Stadium for Saturday's North London derby.

"Wilshere is okay," Wenger said. "He had a test this morning. We have everybody available apart from [Abou] Diaby, [Thomas] Vermaelen and [Manuel] Almunia, who is not in the squad but back in normal training. We play so many matches at the moment that we rotate from game to game so it's good news we have almost everybody available."

Nicklas Bendtner and Robin van Persie are also in contention for a place in the squad."
