Cesc Fabregas has returned to training with Arsenal and has a "small chance" of facing Manchester United on Monday.

The Gunners captain has been beset by hamstring problems and his latest injury picked up against Braga last month caused great concern to manager Arsene Wenger.

Fabregas had set his sights on returning for the trip to Old Trafford and although that is still a possibility, Wenger is determined not to take any risks with the 23-year-old.

"He was out at practice [on Tuesday]," Wenger said ahead of Arsenal's home game with Partizan Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday. "He has a small chance to play on Monday. That means it is a bit under 50 per cent at the moment.

Fabregas' fellow midfielder Abou Diaby is also in training, but he too is a major doubt to face United.

He added: "Diaby is out practising as well with him. He has a very small chance."
