Coyle warns Blackburn over new manager

Owen Coyle has warned Blackburn Rovers' owners that they will struggle to find a better manager than Sam Allardyce, who was surprisingly sacked on Monday.
The Bolton boss struck the final nail into Allardyce's coffin by masterminding a 2-1 victory over Rovers last weekend, but Coyle insists that defeat should not deflect from the excellent job the 56-year-old was doing.
Having inherited a Blackburn team deep in relegation danger, Allardyce went on to establish them in mid-table on a shoestring budget. That was not enough to prevent the axe from falling, however, prompting Coyle to issue a rebuke to Rovers' new owners, Venky's.
"Sam Allardyce had done a fantastic job at Blackburn Rovers, as he had everywhere else because he's a fantastic manager," Coyle said. "I think [to say I was] shocked was almost an understatement. They're going to have to go some to get a better replacement than what they had in Sam Allardyce."
