Kean reveals positive Samba talks

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is hopeful of persuading Chris Samba to remain at the club, hinting at the prospect of new signings leading to a change of heart from the defender.
Samba slammed the club for their decision to axe previous manager Sam Allardyce and made it clear he wanted to move on. Samba missed the Boxing Day defeat to Stoke, but would not have been captain had he been passed fit on account of his recent outburst.
The January transfer window is likely to see Blackburn inundated with enquiries about Samba, but Kean is hopeful an influx of players will prompt the defender into a change of heart.
"When I told Chris the plans for the transfer window he was very positive so hopefully he can look at it in a different light now and hopefully he will stay," Kean said. "Since I came back and explained what is going to be happening they [senior players] have been reassured and I don't think there has been anything negative.
"We will be submitting a list to the owners and it is inevitable we will be bringing in at least a few bodies, because we are thin on the ground a bit in key positions."
