Pulis rules out Beckham loan deal

Stoke manager Tony Pulis will not attempt to sign David Beckham on loan, but will keep an open mind when the transfer window opens on Saturday.
The LA Galaxy midfielder has been linked with a loan move to the Premier League in January, but the Potters boss insists he will not be in the market for the former Manchester United star.
"I think we'll give David a miss," Pulis said. "I hope [to see him back in the Premier League]. He has been a fantastic footballer and he has been great for this country."
Stoke completed the signing of Jermaine Pennant on Wednesday, and Pulis is keen to further bolster his squad.
"There's a market out there, how strong and how tough that market will be, we will have to wait and see," he said. "I'd like to do a little bit of business in January; I think it livens it all up, shakes it all up. We will certainly be in the market looking for one or two things."
However, defender Danny Higginbotham has been linked with a move away from the Britannia, and Pulis refused to rule out a sale.
"We will look at every deal separately and we will talk and see if it's right for the football club," Pulis said. "Danny's under contract and we are paying him decent money and we've got a responsibility to look after this football club.
"Nobody forced any of the players to sign a contract here - they are all earning good money. If it's right for us and the players, we will do it. If it's not, then we will continue paying them good money and they will have to get on with it."
