Toure admits he 'lost it' with Adebayor

Kolo Toure has attempted to play down his training ground spat with Emmanuel Adebayor by revealing he has been involved in similar flashpoints with the striker in the past.

Photographers captured Adebayor and Toure scrapping during a training session on Tuesday, just one day before Manchester City face Arsenal in an important game at the top of the Premier League.

The incident was the latest in a string of problems that have erupted at City this season. Mario Balotelli and Jerome Boateng clashed in training; James Milner and Yaya Toure were involved in a heated conversation in the tunnel during a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in October; and Vincent Kompany and Adebayor have also clashed on the pitch.

Toure, though, says the latest quarrel is not significant and has explained he and Adebayor have a history of confrontation.

Toure told the Sun: "We both lost it but it calmed down quickly. Other players and the manager came to separate us. It's already forgotten.

"In any case, with Adebayor it's not the first time and it won't be the last. At Arsenal we often had a similar set-to. We know each other well, maybe too well. In any case that proves we have energy to burn; it's not that negative.''
