Roberto Mancini has admitted that Roque Santa Cruz will be allowed to leave Manchester City in January - but Emmanuel Adebayor has been told he must wait for a move.

Santa Cruz has fallen well down the pecking order at City this season, making just one Premier League appearance, and Blackburn are reportedly interested in bringing the striker to Ewood Park.

Now that City have bolstered their striking ranks by signing Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg, Mancini is willing to let Santa Cruz leave the club. "Roque is [a] possible [departure] because he is a good guy and deserves to play," he said. "It is important for him."

Adebayor, meanwhile, has been assured that he has a future at City - despite last week's training-ground spat with Kolo Toure. The Togo international is another who has featured only intermittently this season, starting just two league games, but he looks set for more opportunities in the coming months, with City battling on three fronts.

Asked about Adebayor's prospects of a move away from the club in January, Mancini replied: "Emmanuel must wait."
