Cahill questions Reds' fighting spirit

Tim Cahill may be on international duty with Australia, but he has one eye on club affairs and the Everton midfielder has pinpointed Liverpool's lack of spirit as their Achilles heel ahead of Sunday's Merseyside derby.
The struggling Reds are just four points above the relegation zone and the return of Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish as manager has done nothing to arrest their slide down the Premier League table.
Dalglish, who has presided over two defeats - one in the league and one in the FA Cup - since succeeding Roy Hodgson, is set to meet owner John W Henry on Friday to discuss January transfer targets but Cahill warned that only fighting spirit can save their season.
"Liverpool are in a bit of bother at the moment. But really we've no concern about what's going on there or any other club," Cahill said.
"In games like this, you have to make sure you give everything - it's down to work ethic and spirit. At Everton, in the worst times, when it's not going your way, that spirit is what saved us."
Cahill will be forced to watch Sunday's Anfield derby on TV as he is currently in Qatar competing in the Asian Cup.
