Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is on the lookout for a new keeper to replace the wantaway Shay Given.

The Republic of Ireland international has spent much of the season on the bench after losing the No. 1 jersey to Joe Hart, who returned to City in the summer having spent last season on loan at Birmingham. Given is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, and is looking for a move away from Eastlands.

Mancini has told Given that he can leave the club - but only once a replacement has been found. Mancini was forced to hand goalkeeping duties to Marton Fulop after Given dislocated his shoulder last April, and he is not prepared to take a similar risk.

"We can't take the same risk as last season," Mancini told The Guardian. "We have seen two or three [options] but Shay doesn't decide this situation.

"We must wait to see if he has a chance [to leave], but we must first find another good goalkeeper. Shay knows, though, that if he wants to stay I'm happy."
