Birmingham City have admitted defeat in their attempt to sign Rangers striker Kenny Miller, with the forward set to agree a deal with Turkish side Bursaspor.

Miller, 31, became one of Blues manager Alex McLeish's top transfer targets after a deal to bring Spurs' Robbie Keane to St Andrew's fell through. A bid believed to be worth around £700,000 was accepted by the Ibrox club, but McLeish has again been foiled as Miller's representatives have informed the Premier League club that the former Celtic and Wolves striker will instead be heading to Turkey.

"Kenny Miller will not be joining Blues after the player's representatives informed the club that he has accepted an irresistible offer from Turkish champions Bursaspor," a club statement read. "The club pulled out all the stops in an attempt to bring the Scotland international striker, who attracted offers from several top European clubs, to St. Andrew's.

"However the offer from Bursaspor proved to be too good for Miller to turn down and the 31-year-old has now decided to undertake the next chapter of his career in the Turkish Super Lig."

Birmingham, who currently lie 16th in the table, have said they will now set their sights on other targets.
