Ferguson wary of January transfer minefield

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he is unlikely to raid the transfer market in January, as the Manchester United boss feels it is often a struggle to get your hands on the best talent.
With Ferguson's Red Devils sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, there is not a pressing need to raid the market in January. The Scot has seen fellow title rivals Arsenal and Chelsea linked with a host of players, while Manchester City and Tottenham have already opened the chequebook to strengthen their squads.
Ferguson has used the January market to pep up his squad in the past, but the wily Scot admits it can be a minefield.
"It is always difficult to buy in January, as the players you would like you can't get," Ferguson told Sky Sports News. "Not everyone sells the best players in January, that is a fact of life, and we have experienced this over many years.
"We have bought in January in the past and have had good success, but it is not always easy."
