Nasri eager for fresh Arsenal deal
Samir Nasri is ready to pledge his long-term future to Arsenal after his agent confirmed the midfielder is eager to sign a new deal at the club.
The France international, who joined Arsenal from Marseille in 2008, has just 18 months remaining on his current contract.
Nasri has emerged as a key member of the Gunners' first-team this season, with his performances leading to suggestions that he could be a frontrunner for the Footballer of the Year award.
Having scored nine goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season, the 24-year-old has reportedly caught the eye of Barcelona - but Jean-Pierre Bernes insists that the player wants to remain at Arsenal.
Bernes said in the Daily Express: "Samir has done his three seasons with Arsenal and the wise thing to do is to stay with this club."
Nasri is currently out of action with a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenal's 2-1 FA Cup win over Huddersfield Town.
