Warnock and Beye dumped in reserves

Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has issued a stark warning to defenders Stephen Warnock and Habib Beye by relegating the pair to the reserves.

Houllier is striving to pull Villa away from the drop zone and he is unsure whether the two full backs are fully committed to the cause and has made his feelings clear.

"They must show the trust first and they must show they like the club," Houllier told the Birmingham Mail. "They're here, they're Aston Villa players, they are training with the reserves. If needed, they will fill in. If not, they won't.

"It's not only a matter of being good enough, it's also a matter of being committed enough.

"They're training with the reserves and they have to give their best because the reserves work hard. There's no point just being in our warm-downs, so they train with the reserves."

Warnock was in the England reckoning a year ago but is now well down the pecking order at Villa Park, while Beye has cut little ice since the arrival of Houllier.
