Ipswich's resurgence under Paul Jewell continued as they romped to a 6-0 win at Doncaster, who have now won just one of their last seven league games.

A hat-trick from Connor Wickham, one apiece from Colin Healy and Gareth McAuley and an own goal from Sam Hird allowed Ipswich to pick up their 13th point from the last 15 on offer.

Doncaster, who are in relegation danger after plummeting down the table in recent weeks, have now not scored a Championship goal since January 22.

Cardiff blew the chance to make significant inroads into QPR's lead at the top of the table after Steven Thompson's 83rd-minute equaliser earned Burnley a 1-1 draw at Cardiff City Stadium.

Although the Clarets dominated the majority of the game, with Chris Eagles tormenting the home side, they looked set to walk away empty-handed after Michael Chopra struck for Dave Jones' men.

But Burnley, who are launching a bid for a play-off place under new boss Eddie Howe following wins over Watford and Norwich, continued their impressive run with Thompson's strike.

Daniel Bogdanovic's last-minute penalty relieved some of the pressure swelling around Micky Adams' head at Sheffield United, but they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Reading. The Blades, who have now gone nine matches without a win, fell behind to Shane Long's strike before Bogdanovic came to their rescue at the death.

Preston remain rooted to the bottom of the table after throwing away a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road. Phil Brown appeared on course for his first win since taking over at Deepdale when Sean St Ledger and Leon Clarke struck in the first half, but goals from Matt Whichelow and Adam Thompson forced the visitors to settle for a point.
