Frimpong snubs England to play for Ghana

England youth international Emmanuel Frimpong has declared he wants to play senior international football for Ghana.
Frimpong, who has played for England at Under-17 level, was born in Accra but moved to North London when he was a child.
The 19-year-old has yet to play for the Arsenal first team but was tipped to make the breakthrough until a cruciate knee injury ruled him out of action in August, meaning he is likely to miss the whole season.
"I have always said that I will play for Ghana because I am a Ghanaian player," he told Citi Sports. "My whole family is from Ghana, but at the same time, I have been in England since I was young and I see England as my home.
"But at the moment, if Ghana call me up I will gladly go and play. But there are people who also don't want me to be called to play for Ghana, which is very disappointing. I guess I just have to wait for a call-up. But at the moment I am still playing for England so it's a bit of a difficult situation.
"I have always told my family that if Ghana call me, I will personally ride my own bicycle from England to Ghana."
