Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini was left bemoaning ''two big mistakes'' as his side gave themselves a Europa League mountain to climb against Dynamo Kiev.

Goals from former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko and Oleg Gusev either side of half-time handed Dynamo a 2-0 win in this last-16 first leg match.

Mancini told ITV4: ''We played a good game. I think we did two mistakes for the goals, two big mistakes. We can't concede mistakes like this.

''Kiev are a good team. I think the right result would be 2-1 maybe, but I think we should pay attention in defensive areas because two stupid goals - I think if you play in an eighth-final in the Europa League you can't concede goals like these.

''There's frustration because we had control of the game. They played on the counter attack.''
