Vidic a doubt for Marseille clash

Nemanja Vidic will face a late fitness test ahead of Manchester United's Champions League clash against Marseille.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson received a welcome boost when Nani, Michael Carrick and Michael Owen returned to training on Monday, but the Serbia defender did not take part.

Ferguson has relied heavily on Vidic in the absence of the injured Rio Ferdinand, and the United boss confirmed he had picked up a knock in Saturday's FA Cup victory over Arsenal, but was confident he would recover in time for Tuesday's clash at Old Trafford.

"He got a knock in Saturday's game," Ferguson said. "He was getting treatment this morning and hopefully he will be OK tomorrow."
