Chelsea confirm capture of 'new Kaka' Piazon

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Piazon.
Sao Paulo vice-president Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva revealed on March 16 that an agreement was in place, commenting: "It is a big deal for the club. The value of it is almost the same as that of Luis Fabiano. He nearly joined Juventus earlier this year, but now everything has been resolved."
Now the Stamford Bridge club have announced the transfer on their official website, stating: "Chelsea has agreed terms with Sao Paulo FC for the transfer of Lucas Piazon. The player has signed a pre-contract agreement and is expected to join us in January 2012 on a long-term deal."
An attacker of exceptional quality, Piazon was named player of the tournament at the 2009 Under-15 Championships, and he has been likened to Real Madrid star Kaka in Brazil.
The player was also courted by Juventus, who appeared to have won the race for the teenager two months ago after he spent a week training with the Italian giants.
Instead, he is set to move to Stamford Bridge in line with FIFA laws after Sao Paulo agreed to sell him, in a transfer worth a reported £5.3 million.
