Cristiano Ronaldo in squad to face Tottenham
Cristiano Ronaldo looks increasingly likely to face Tottenham in the first leg of Real Madrid's Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday, after he was included in Jose Mourinho's matchday squad.
Mourinho had earlier revealed that Karim Benzema will definitely miss the Spurs clash, but he told journalists to wait until 5pm on Monday for news on Ronaldo. The Portugal international had been a doubt for the match since suffering a hamstring injury against Atletico Madrid on March 19.
Ronaldo has since come through Monday's training session and his name has appeared in Madrid's squad ahead of kick-off.
Crucially, Mourinho was also able to name Brazilian Marcelo, who has been one of Madrid's most consistent players this season. Marcelo was the man who found the breakthrough in their last-16 triumph against Lyon.
Kaka and Angel Di Maria, both fitness doubts, were also in the squad along with Gonzalo Higuain, who has just returned after a four-month absence.
