Harry planning to build Spurs squad

Harry Redknapp has maintained that Tottenham will not consider selling the likes of Rafael van der Vaart, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric even if they fail to secure a Champions League spot.
Tottenham's form has dipped in recent weeks and they have slipped four points behind Manchester City in the race for the fourth Champions League spot. Failing to secure a place in Europe's premier club competition has led to talk that some of Spurs' star names, Van der Vaart, Bale and Modric among them, could seek out moves away.
Redknapp is aware that failing to reach the Champions League is a possibility, but has insisted it will not lead to a clearout at White Hart Lane.
"They are not for sale," Redknapp said at his press conference on Friday. "If you do you sell them, you may as well accept you're a mid-table team.
"We are trying to be a Champions League team and we will not do that by selling our best players."
Redknapp is looking to keep hold of his star names, but is prepared to trim his squad by offloading the likes of Robbie Keane, Jamie O'Hara and David Bentley who are all out on loan at present.
"If you want to be in the Champions League you have to keep improving. I know that and the chairman does," Redknapp said. "We have lots of players out on loan, so we need to trim the squad a bit, with one or two of those moving on, and bring in one or two top players in."
