Carlo Ancelotti does not believe that Chelsea's defeat against Manchester United last weekend has cost him his job at Stamford Bridge.

The Red Devils' 2-1 win moved them six points ahead of Chelsea, and needing one point to clinch another Premier League title. Ancelotti's side were eliminated from the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by the same opponents, leaving them staring at a trophyless season - one year after winning the double.

Speculation is rife that Ancelotti will be dismissed in the summer, with the club set to review his position when the season comes to an end, but the Italian is confident that the United loss will not decide his future. "I don't think so," Ancelotti said. "My job will be judged throughout the year, not for one game."

Meanwhile, Ancelotti has revealed that Fernando Torres will return to the starting line-up for the clash with Newcastle United. The Spain international, who has scored once in 12 league games since joining Chelsea in January, was benched for the showdown at Old Trafford.
