Adebayor willing to take pay cut to stay at Real Madrid

Emmanuel Adebayor is hoping Manchester City will lower their valuation of him so that he can turn his loan move to Real Madrid into a permanent switch this summer, with the striker revealing he would be willing to take a pay cut to stay in Spain.
Adebayor joined the Spanish giants on a five-month loan spell from Eastlands in January, and has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions, bagging five goals.
Despite not always being a first-choice striker, the Togo international says he is settled in Madrid and is even prepared to see his earnings fall if it means he can stay at the Bernabeu.
"I did it to come here and I would do it again," he said. "Whatever is necessary, there's no better club in the world," the 27-year-old told Spanish newspaper AS.
"I love Madrid, I want to continue. My friends tell me that I seem happier, even when I'm on the bench."
When asked whether City might be open to lower their asking price, he said: "I hope so, it's an intelligent club. They have many players and not everyone can stay. Hopefully they will be prepared to negotiate."
