Sir Alex Ferguson led Manchester United to a 19th league title

Manchester United have swept the boards at the Barclays Premier League awards, with Sir Alex Ferguson named Manager of the Season and Nemanja Vidic named Player of the Season.

Ferguson led United to a 19th league title this season, passing fierce rivals Liverpool in the process, and his side dropped just two points at Old Trafford all season.

Their record on the road was not as strong, but Ferguson has been rewarded for another league title with the Premier League award.

And it proved a fine day for the club as dominant defender Vidic fended off stiff competition to take the award of Player of the Season.

It is the ninth time that the 69-year-old Ferguson has landed the award, while Vidic has now been named Barclays' Player of the Season twice.
