Sol Campbell has told ESPNsoccernet that he wants to continue his career at the highest level and has no plans to quit the game.

Campbell, 36, believes he can overcome his injury problems and make a fresh start at another club as he prepares to leave Newcastle United.

Campbell said: "I have had an injury for five weeks, but I can now see some light and it should be healed within two weeks.

"I have no thoughts of retirement, not at all. I believe I can provide experience for one of the promoted clubs, for example, or help a club in the Premier League, I have no thoughts of lowering my standards. I have no worries of moving back to London if need be."

Campbell made only four league starts and three substitute appearances with Newcastle having been lured there by Chris Hughton, whose departure resulted in the former England centre half being sidelined by Alan Pardew.
