Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes wants to return to former club PSV Eindhoven, according to the Dutch club's sporting director.

Gomes, who arrived at Spurs from PSV in 2008, has had a mixed season at White Hart Lane this year. He has excelled in most games, but looked back to his erratic and unpredictable worst recently with blunders against Chelsea, Real Madrid and Blackpool.

The Brazil international, 30, spent four years at PSV before moving to London and he is now interested in a return to the Eredivisie side, according to one of the club's board members, sporting director Marcel Brands.

''He (Gomes) has let me know he is interested in a return to PSV,'' Brands told Voetbal International. ''I have let him know I will look at what we can do for each other. His contract only has one year left to run. There is not much more to say at the moment.''

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists that he has no plans to offload Gomes but he may consider bringing in another goalkeeper to provide competition for the Brazil stopper - Birmingham's Ben Foster and Aston Villa's Brad Friedel are thought to be on the radar.
