Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has opened the door to a move away from the club, citing a desire to continue playing in the Champions League.

Modric, 25, has been one of Spurs' most important players this season, and was instrumental in the club's run to the quarter-finals of Europe's premier club competition.

His form has led to reports of interest from clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona, and the Croatian has admitted that he would be open to a move away from White Hart Lane if the club received a suitable offer.

"Everybody wants to know what will happen with me," Modric told Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List, as he prepares for a Euro 2012 qualifier against Georgia. "I'm trying to stay calm as my national team has a really important match coming.

"So I will tell you the same as all ways - my club status is the same as it was before.

"But of course, if there will be an offer which will be good for Tottenham and for me also, then a transfer is of course possible."

Spurs finished fifth in the Premier League this season - failing to secure qualification for the Champions League again after an impressive debut campaign. The midfielder stressed that he is not actively looking for a move away from the club, but acknowledged he is keen to remain playing at the highest level he can.

"That doesn't mean that I'm bothered with leaving Tottenham - I'm not thinking about that every hour and every minute," he added. "I'm happy at White Hart Lane - my status is great, the fans like me and I do have everything I need.

"But then again - when you experience playing in Champions League, you want to keep playing in this tournament."
