Birmingham City midfielder Sebastian Larsson has revealed that he could soon be making a return to Arsenal having run down his contract at St Andrews.

Larsson, 26, left relegated Birmingham on a free transfer as one of the Blues' most valuable assets, and several of the Premier League's top clubs are reportedly interested in securing his services.

From 2001-2007, the Sweden international was on the Gunner's books and made a handful of appearances for the club in the League Cup, despite never seeing action once in the Premier League. Larsson, however, believes a return to the Emirates Stadium is on the cards.

"They have shown some interest and I should know more in the next few days" he told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. "I know there is some kind of interest but I cannot currently say whether something can be done or not."

"At the moment I do not know how it is going. I know who said that they have shown an interest but the next few days will tell."

Larsson has admitted that he is still talking to some of his friends at the club he left as a 22-year-old, most notably Gael Clichy, himself the subject of much transfer speculation.

Including a loan spell in 2006, the Swede has made 184 appearances for Birmingham in six seasons and found the back of the net 19 times.
