Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has dealt a blow to Manchester United and Chelsea by claiming Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder wants to stay with the Serie A club.

Sneijder is one of the most gifted midfielders in Europe and is viewed by some as the ideal man to fill the void left by Paul Scholes' retirement at United.

Chelsea are also looking for some craft in the middle of the park and Sneijder is reported to be their list of targets.

Inter had a disappointing season by their own high standards, winning just the Coppa Italia, and are currently without a manager following Leonardo's departure.

Despite the problems, Inter are in the Champions League and Moratti claims Sneijder and other star names Maicon and Samuel Eto'o want to remain with the club.

"What I can say is that I have spoken to Maicon, Sneijder and Eto'o and they have all told me they want to continue with us," Moratti said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Cameroon striker Eto'o recently claimed he was open to the prospect of a move to the Premier League, while Maicon is a target for Real Madrid.
