AC Milan rule out swoop for Didier Drogba

The Wednesday appointment of Andre Villas-Boas as Chelsea's new manager instantly calls into question the future of Didier Drogba, but if the Ivorian soon becomes surplus to requirements he will not find a home at AC Milan.
Chelsea confirmed the arrival of former Porto coach Villas-Boas on Wednesday, signalling a whole new era at Stamford Bridge. At just 33 years of age, Villas-Boas brings new life and energy to an ageing Chelsea setup, and it is expected that he will reflect that in future alterations to his squad.
The Blues have a number of first team players who are the wrong side of 30, one of whom is Drogba. At the same age as the manager, Drogba already found himself playing a bit-part role towards the end of the season following the signing of Fernando Torres, and now Chelsea are expected to add Porto's prolific marksman Radamel Falcao.
Falcao set a goalscoring record with his 17 strikes in the Europa League last season, and his fox-in-the-box instincts may prove a more suitable foil to Torres, who likes to do plenty of work outside of the area.
The arrival of Falcao would alert Europe's top clubs to the possibility of luring Drogba away from London, but Milan president Adriano Galliani has crushed speculation in the Italian media linking his club with the Ivorian.
Galliani told Corriere dello Sport: "We are covered in attack and hence, Drogba will not arrive."
Drogba had been touted as a replacement purchase for Antonio Cassano, who is a target of Fiorentina.
