Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng remains hopeful of securing a move to Bayern Munich.

Boateng, 22, signed for City from Hamburg last summer but, after a debut campaign ruined by injuries, he was unable to establish himself as a first-team regular.

City have expressed their desire to retain the player and are demanding €20 million, but Boateng - who has already agreed a four-year deal with Bayern - remains hopeful that an agreement can be reached.

"I believe [a deal can be done]," he told Bild. "I have to show patience. There is nothing more to say. I am going to concentrate on training and hope that an agreement can be reached quickly."

Boateng is currently undergoing rehabilitation after knee surgery in America and added: "The rehab is going really well. I'm not in any pain. I'm working on my fitness, strength and pace."

Boateng is under contract at Eastlands until 2015.
