Liverpool target Charlie Adam is remaining calm as talks continue over his proposed move from Blackpool to Anfield.

Adam has been tipped to join Liverpool this summer after the club renewed their interest in his services following their failure to bring him to Merseyside in January.

Aston Villa have also recently been mentioned as potential suitors for the midfielder, although the Reds appear in pole position despite reports suggesting the agreement of a fee remains a sticking point.

"I go back to Blackpool on Monday and that's the way it is," Adam said in the Liverpool Echo. "Everybody knows the situation. The club have met with Liverpool but that's as far as it has gone.

"I had a conversation with the chairman but that will remain private. It's important that we keep everything in-house. Whatever happens will happen."
