Harry Redknapp has warned Paris Saint Germain that Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of selling Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

Danny Rose signed a new deal on Monday and has been described a future star at left back, which will only add to competition for places at White Hart Lane.

Assou-Ekotto is the man in possession of the shirt at left back, having risen in Redknapp's pecking order, but he has been linked with a move to big-spending PSG.

The defender has insisted he has no pressing desire to leave and with him being on a long-term deal, Redknapp has made it clear they are not interested in selling.

"He is a fantastic left back, absolutely top, top class," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "He is a player for sure we don't want to sell.

"He's a character and a one-off. He has said many times he's not that interested in football. He comes and plays and trains, but he has got great ability.

"We will not be selling Benoit. He is top, top drawer. There are three or four great left backs in the Premier League and he is one of them.

"He signed a new contract last year, he's here to stay and we are not selling Benoit."
