Owen going the extra mile to prove fitness
Owen Hargreaves is striving to win a move to a new club by posting videos on Youtube in a bid to show he is over his injury torment.
The midfielder was released by Manchester United at the end of his contract this summer, following a spell at Old Trafford that was blighted by injury. Knee injuries and other niggles restricted Hargreaves to just four appearances since 2008, but he claims he is now ready to resume his career.
Hargreraves has posted a series of videos on the website where he goes through a string of rigorous workouts, in the hope of persuading a club to take a gamble.
It has been claimed that West Ham have been mulling over offering Hargreaves a pay-as-you-play deal, but have so far not made an approach.
Whether Hargreaves' novel attempt at proving his fitness will prompt the Hammers or any other club to make a bid could become a talking point of the summer.
