Sunderland wrap up Brown deal

Sunderland have completed the signing of Wes Brown from Manchester United, with the defender becoming Steve Bruce's seventh capture of the summer.
Brown was deemed surplus to requirements and with Sunderland keen to add experience, Bruce moved for the defender and his United team-mate Darren Gibson and John O'Shea.
Former England international Brown arrived for a medical on Wednesday evening and came through that before inking a four-year deal the following afternoon.
Bruce said: "We are delighted to welcome a player of Wes' ability, experience and character to the club.
"He has been a fantastic professional for Manchester United through the years and not only will he strengthen our defensive options, he will also bring with him a winning mentality and level of maturity which can only be positive for the players around him."
Brown seems certain to be followed through the door by O'Shea who has arrived for a medical. And this will allow Bruce to concentrate his efforts on sealing the deal for midfielder Gibson.
