Dai Young has sounded the rallying call to his charges to make it two from two after their winning start to the 2011 Amlin Challenge Cup tournament.

A six-try triumph against Bordeaux-Begles gave Young the perfect five-point start last weekend in a Pool in which the back-to-back contests with Bayonne could hold the key to quarter-final qualification. The match at Stade Andre Moga was watched by a massive crowd of almost 17,000 with Christian Wade leading the way for Wasps with a try hat-trick. And ahead of Sunday's clash with Rovigo, Young wants his side to put down a marker to the rest of the tournament.

"We are giving the Amlin Challenge Cup our best shot, we have a small squad so we put out our best team whenever we can," said Young. "It is important to keep the momentum going, to keep building on the things we are doing, and that is what we will be out to do against Rovigo.

"The aim is now to build on that performance and we have to try and get maximum points at home. People might expect us to win but we will still have to be in the zone to do that. If we are in that zone them we are a hard team to beat. It is all about being in the right frame of mind because if the work ethic and work rate is there then we have the skills to do the job.

"The games against Bayonne could well decide the group - they have a pretty powerful side - but all we are concentrating on this week is Rovigo. We are not at a stage when we can rest people or at a place when we can turn the momentum on and off. We need to keep things going and improve week after week.

"We have a new team, new coaches and new way of playing so while we are going in the right direction we know we are not there yet."

The bumper crowd certainly brought the best out of Wasps, Young adding: "The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. That was the biggest crowd they have had for quite awhile, it was really noisy for a match played on a really good surface. There is a real buzz about the place with them back in both the Top 14 and Europe and Bordeaux is a real rugby place and everyone gets behind them, even when they went behind. They will certainly have some more big days down there.

"The boys played really well - it is never easy to go over to France and come away with the win - and I thought we showed a lot of quality and determination. Hopefully the boys can take a lot of confidence from it because it was a good win and one they should enjoy.

"If Bordeaux had scored early on that would have made it a lot tougher and although we went in with a good lead at half-time but I didn't think the game was won at that point. I reminded the team that Bordeaux were still very dangerous and that we couldn't become loose and for 10 minutes of the second half we lost our shape a little but when we got it back we were assured.

"I thought Richard [Haughton] was outstanding at full back - he had a fantastic game. Every time he came into the line he caused them problems. His pace really stood out and he set up a lot of tries. He showed what he can do and if he can do and we've got to try and get him doing that consistently."
