Toulouse have bolstered their front-row resources with the signing of Georgian hooker Akvsenti Giorgadze.

The 35-year-old arrives at the Top 14 champions from Castres following the news that Gary Botha broke his leg in their win over Montpellier. The former Harlequins hooker is set for four months out and he joins his South African compatriots Gurthro Steenkamp and Daan Human on the sidelines.

But Giorgadze will bring a wealth of experience to the position. He has turned out in 74 Top 14 games for Castres and in 11 Heineken Cup matches.

Toulouse also face an anxious wait over French international hooker William Servat. The hooker has been cited for punching Thibaut Privat during their bad-tempered clash with Montpellier. French prop Jean Baptiste-Poux is also on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

And Toulouse have also moved to tie down winger Yves Donguy a new deal. The 30-year-old winger arrived at the Top 14 champions back in 2007 and has since made in excess of 70 appearances. The Ivory Coast-born winger has signed a new two-year contract with the option of an extra year.
