Top 14 big-spenders Toulon are reportedly chasing the signature of British & Irish Lions Test prop Gethin Jenkins.

Jenkins is a man in demand with both Perpignan and Bath also in the chase for the prop with his Cardiff Blues contract expiring at the end of the 2011-12 season. Jenkins has been linked with a move to Perpignan - where he would join up with Jamie Hook- and also to Bruce Craig's Bath, who have the funds available under the new marquee player role to make him a substantial offer.

But reports in the press on Tuesday claim that Jenkins has met with Bernard Laporte ahead of a possible move to Toulon. And reports last week suggested that fellow Lions prop Andrew Sheridan had also journeyed to the South of France to meet with owner Mourad Boudjellal and boss Laporte concerning a possible move.

The Daily Mail reports that Toulon have already agreed a deal for French hooker William Servat and after fellow Les Bleus international Fabien Barcella rejected Toulon's advances, they are now in the market for Jenkins.

If Jenkins agrees a move to Toulon then he will join a band of British exiles which include Jonny Wilkinson, Joe El Abd, Steffon Armitage, Dean Schofield and Eifion Lewis-Roberts. And reports over the past week or so claim that England lock Nick Kennedy has put pen to paper on a three-year deal to join Toulon where he may be joined by Delon Armitage.
